WEDDING FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Aren´t you already married?
Technically, yes. But it was so wonderful the first time around, we wanted to do it again.
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
We are having an unplugged ceremony and are therefore requesting that all guests turn off their phones and cameras during the wedding ceremony. This will avoid distractions and allow our photographer to capture the best pictures of us all. We are more than happy for guests to take as many pictures as they like throughout the rest of the day.
When is the RSVP deadline?
July 11th, however, if you are coming we recommend you RSVP and book your hotel and flights as soon as your schedule is set.
Where should I stay?
We have booked blocks of rooms at the following hotels:
-
Gran Fiesta Americana
-
NH Hotels
Note: Transportation to and from the wedding venue on Saturday will be from these hotels. If you choose to stay elsewhere, you’ll need to arrange your own transportation to these hotels to catch the wedding shuttle.
Should I rent a car?
It depends. For airport transfers and local travel, we recommend using your hotel’s concierge service—Uber is also readily available throughout Guadalajara.
We’ll be providing transportation for the wedding day, and the Friday welcome event is just a short walk (less than two blocks) from the recommended hotels.
If you’re planning to explore the area before or after the festivities, renting a car could be a convenient option.

How do I get to the wedding?
To ensure everyone arrives comfortably and on time, we’ll be providing mandatory transportation to and from the wedding via a fleet of sprinter vans.

Pick-up and drop-off will be available at the following hotels:
• Gran Fiesta Americana Guadalajara Country Club
• NH Collection Guadalajara Providencia

Vans will depart promptly at 2:00 PM. Return service will begin at 11:30 PM, with vans departing every 30 minutes. The final van will leave at 3:00 AM. If you anticipate needing to leave before 11:30 PM, we kindly ask that you arrange your own transportation.

Will there be an event on Sunday?
Nope. Since the wedding venue is a ways outside the city, and we expect most of you will have had a late night. We recommend sleeping in before heading home or continuing your travels.

What will the weather be like?
Guadalajara in October is typically 82-86°F (28-30°C) during the day. Evenings can be cooler (lows around 60-65°F (16-18°C) so bring a light jacket or shawl. October is the end of rainy season, so it is usually pretty dry with the occasional shower.
Can I bring a plus one?
We operate on a loose “no ring, no bring” policy. If there is someone very special in your life and you haven’t made anything official yet, please reach out to us and we will do our best to accommodate. We unfortunately cannot make any promises.

Are there any local customs we should be aware of?
Mexican weddings tend to go late (or early the next day depending on your point of view), involve lots of dancing, and yes, tequila. Be ready.

Will there be vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free options?
Yes! Let us know in advance if you have dietary restrictions so we can make sure you’re well-fed.
What does Black Tie mean?
Attire: Strict Black Tie
We kindly ask all guests to embrace formal black-tie attire to match the tone of the celebration.
• For men: Black tuxedo, white dress shirt, black bow tie, and formal dress shoes.
• For women: Floor-length dress or gowns. While heels are traditionally worn, please keep in mind that the ceremony and cocktail hour will take place on grass—elegant flats or block heels are a lovely (and comfortable) option.

Thank you for dressing up with us—we can’t wait to celebrate together in style!

What is the dress code for the welcome event on Friday?
Cocktail attire. That’s pretty obnoxiously vague, so here’s what we actually mean:
-
For men: Sports coats, dress shirts, slacks, dress shoes/loafers. Suit and/or tie optional.
-
For women: Dresses? Some shoes? Hair? You know, cocktail attire. If you are having trouble deciding, please do not hesitate to reach out to the bride.

What is the event on Thursday?
While not an official wedding event, Thursday offers a special experience we’d love to share with you—a full day exploring the world of the town of Tequila. If you’re able to arrive in Guadalajara by Wednesday evening, we warmly invite you to join us.
More details, pricing, and sign-up information will be available in the Thursday section of the website.
Will there be mosquitos?
We tried to arrange for all the mosquitos in Mexico to go to the Caribbean for the weekend, but as of now that is not likely to be the case. There will be some mosquitos and we will provide PLENTY of repellent at the events.
Can I stay at the venue?
We would have loved to fit everyone, but it is a small hacienda and only has space for the nuclear families of the bride and groom and the wedding party.
What airport should I fly in to
Guadalajara International Airport.

Can I bring my children?
-
To the Wedding Celebration on Saturday? Unfortunately not. Due to the venue’s unique location on a mountainside with steep drop-offs, the venue requires, and we kindly ask that children not attend the wedding ceremony or reception. The only exceptions will be the bride’s nephews from immediate family. That said, we truly do not want childcare logistics to keep you from joining us. If this presents a challenge, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’ll gladly do our best to help make arrangements.
-
To Friday’s event? Yes.
-
To Tequila on Thursday? Highly unadvisable.
